    Senior Manager Corporate Comms ANZ Discovery Networks

    Project

    Discovery Networks needed someone to drive their corporate communications in ANZ as the company evolved and expanded from a linear pay TV network, into platforms such as VOD, OTT, apps, games and FTA TV. Over the past three years the global business had doubled and expanded into new territories - it was important that this role ensured the story was clear in the market, and their relationships strong with the businesses that mattered. It was an opportune time for the business, having just acquired FTA channels in NZ, with a high profile and esteemed VP departing after 10 years. The senior role required a dynamo who was an independent thinker with a strategic mindset. Someone comfortable with a large, diverse workload and who operated with a high-degree of professionalism and would strengthen relationships with media, government and industry bodies.  ​

    Results

    ​Having worked previously with this client, we had a strong understanding of the brand and the culture fit required to reflect their vision. A strategic approach was executed allowing us to reach both active and passive candidates, successfully placing a seasoned industry professional who seamlessly integrated into the business.

    This renowned orchestra approached EP Australia to search for a new Director of Partnerships. They wanted to shake things up. The biggest hurdle was to attract game-changing talent, someone outside the box. With the ACO performing more than 100 concerts every year, they make waves with their explosive performances. They are dynamic - they live and breathe music and perform adventurous cross-artform collaborations. The opportunities for incredible partnerships with these gifted musicians, led by Artistic Director Richard Tognetti, were endless, however they needed someone with vision, hunger and connections to create the partnerships. Someone imaginative, motivated, resourceful and inspired.​

    Results

    The key approach to this project utilised EP Australia’s vast network. The challenge for the role was repositioning the client amongst a competitive marketplace vying for corporate partnership. This was a needle-in-a-haystack search. EP Australia connected them with candidates they wouldn’t normally reach. The ACO made a bold appointment, securing one of the country’s leading entertainment industry identities with international experience to drive this critical arm of the business.
