Perth Film Studios is WA’s first dedicated screen production facility, a purpose-built space designed to host major film and television productions from Australia and around the world. Opening in early 2026, the studio will offer dry-hire soundstages, workshops, and production support spaces that meet the highest industry standards.
We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team. You’ll help keep our systems running smoothly, respond to day-to-day maintenance issues, and support the safe, efficient operation of the whole site. If you’re someone who takes pride in problem-solving, enjoys hands-on technical work, and likes working in dynamic environments then this could be your next big move.
What the role involves:
Reporting to the Facilities Manager you'll be involved in both the pre-opening phase and day-to-day operations once the studio is operational.
Key responsibilities include:
- Infrastructure Maintenance – Conducting routine checks and completing scheduled preventative maintenance, as well as reactive maintenance covering a wide variety of areas
- Production Readiness – Support space requirements and configurations for diverse production needs
- Record Keeping – Record accurate records of maintenance activities, including tasks completed, time spent, parts used and current condition
- Subcontractor Management – Assist the Facilties Manager in coordinating subcontractor activities across the site
- Operational Efficiency – Maximise facility use and minimise downtime
- Sustainability Initiatives – Champion energy-saving and environmentally friendly practices in line with the Studio’s Sustainability Plan
- Compliance & Safety – Supporting adherence to WHS and industry regulations, across subcontractors and clients, ove
- Continuous Improvement – Drive innovation and problem-solving in facility operations
We’re open to people from all kinds of technical and facilities backgrounds. You might have worked in commercial property, live events, a venue or production-related environment.
About you:
- A trade or technical qualification e.g., HVAC, Electrical, or similar
- At least 3 years’ experience in facility or property maintenance, with a mix of planned, preventative and reactive work
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong eye for detail
- Great communication and teamwork skills – you’re someone who gets things done and gets along with others
- A WHS qualification (or willingness to obtain one)
- Bonus points if you’ve worked in creative environments like studios, festivals, or events, but it’s not a must
