Perth Film Studios is Western Australia’s first purpose-built screen production facility, designed to attract major local and international film and television productions. Located in Malaga and opening in early 2026, the studio will offer dry-hire soundstages, workshops, and production spaces that meet global industry standards.
If you’d like to play a key role in WA’s first world-class film studio, we’re looking for an experienced Facilities Manager who’s excited by the opportunity to build and run smart, efficient, safe spaces that support creative excellence. This role is key to ensuring the studio operates smoothly from technical systems and maintenance through to safety and sustainability.
What you’ll be doing:
Reporting to the Head of Studio Operations, you'll be instrumental from the commissioning and testing phase through to full-scale operation. You’ll manage day-to-day functionality, safety, and readiness across the site, including:
- Facility Maintenance – Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, manage vendor relationships, and ensure seamless day-to-day operations
- Production Support – Configure and adapt spaces to meet the evolving needs of incoming productions
- Smart Systems Management – Monitor and optimise EMS, BMS, and related building systems to reduce downtime and maximise efficiency
- Sustainability Leadership – Champion the studio’s Sustainability Plan by implementing practical, energy-efficient solutions
- Compliance & Safety – Maintain high standards of WHS and regulatory compliance across all facilities and contractor work
- Contract & Budget Oversight – Manage vendor contracts and service delivery while tracking performance and spend
- Emergency Planning – Develop and maintain clear emergency response procedures
- Team Leadership – Lead and support a facilities team to maintain excellence in operations
- Continuous Improvement – Drive innovation and proactive problem-solving in all areas of facilities management
We’re open to candidates from a broad range of industries, whether you’re coming from the screen sector, live events, commercial property, or another complex facility environment. You’ll ideally bring:
- A strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) — a trade or technical qualification is a bonus, but not essential
- At least 5 years’ experience in facilities or asset management, with proven vendor and budget oversight
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and hands-on technical capability
- WHS certification or a willingness to obtain one
- Forklift, Telehandler, EWP/Boom lifts, IPAF (ideally holding or willingness to work towards)
- Experience in screen, event, or entertainment infrastructure is a definite plus
