Job description

With a rapid increase in the amount of international production coming to Australia, and the expectation that a steady pipeline of activity will continue into the future, Ausfilm is looking for a strategic thinker to drive the development of strategies to enhance the below the line film and television crew and post, digital and visual effects workforce in Australia’s screen industry.

Working closely with the CEO and Head of Policy & Research, as well as partners from federal and state government, industry, education providers and guilds, this role will be instrumental in coordinating across stakeholders; identifying opportunities for collaboration; and providing advice on short-, medium- and long-term actions across areas including film and television training, skills development and transfers, skilled migration and diversity to address workforce capacity issues impacting the sector.
The successful applicant will be a strong communicator and highly collaborative. They will have demonstrated experience in policy and strategy development and will be confident working with, and providing advice to, senior executives across industry and government.

The Workforce Capacity Strategy Executive is a new 12-month contract position created on the back of Ausfilm’s 2021 Production Infrastructure Capacity Audit, undertaken by Olsberg SPI and an audit of screen education and training opportunities undertaken in 2020
